HISTORICAL, GEOGRAPHICAL, AND LINGUISTIC ASPECT OF QUR'ANIC MIRACLES OF SURAH AR-RUM 1-5

Abstract

The discussion of miracles in the Qur’an encompassed various aspects reflected by its meaning linguistically. This journal aims to determine the greatness and miracles of Surah Ar-Rum verses 1-5 from the perspective of historical, geographical, and linguistic aspects. This study uses qualitative method with library research and focuses on primary data collected from the Qur’an, Ibn Kathir’s interpretation, Al-Qurthubi’s interpretation, and secondary data from related books and journals. The findings of this study show the greatness and the miracles of Surah Ar-Rum verses 1-5 in various aspects: in linguistic aspect which shows the accuracy of the choice of diction, historic aspect showing the accuracy of future events, and geographical aspect showing the accuracy of the description of the location. This study describes the linguistic miracles of Ar-Rum 1-5 and the accuracy of its message as a divine revelation, unrivaled by anything else. The geographic description of the Dead Sea, and the victory that occurred by Allah’s permission are clear evidence of the truth of the Qur’an as the biggest miracle of His prophet.
